The three creators of IN JUSTICE say: “We invite you to join us in a creative conversation about racial justice and reparations. In doing so, we join a conversation which has been going on for hundreds of years, and with many courageous people who have dedicated themselves to furthering it in order to work towards justice. We want to add our voices and actions to these struggles, and to help activate this courage in us all!”
This is an ongoing process which happens daily, in big and small ways.
IN JUSTICE came out of Terra Nova’s intercultural cohort and was created between September 2020 and February 2021 by Jamaican Dub Poet/ facilitator/actor Raquel McKee living in Northern Ireland, performer/facilitator/director Rosa Stourac McCreery, granddaughter of Irish settlers in Canada, living in Newcastle Upon Tyne, in a country that colonised a huge portion of the planet, and award winning playwright/facilitator/dramaturg, Michelle Ashwood Stewart of Jamaica.
In the following film, we ask, what happens when the political is personal, and the personal political? And, if you dare to grapple with these questions yourself, what will you go on to do?
On 2nd January 2021 (the day after Haitian Independence day) we invited a group of people to become spect-actors with us in a Zoom event which was recorded. We watched the IN JUSTICE film (above) together, and our audience responded to it creatively, and through discussion and feedback.

What’s in it for you?
Through the performance and workshop the three IN JUSTICE artists and Terra Nova hope to offer some tools which may be useful in your role or practice for interrogating the issues of racial injustice and reparations, and ways of bringing about change.
What will you do?
We encourage you to give your feedback on the IN JUSTICE piece, but more than that to raise any issues that this has evoked. We absolutely want to hear what you are moved to do to progress the conversation into change. Please fill in the form below to send your feedback, stay in touch, and let us know what action(s) you are committing to to further racial justice and reparations.
