Shakespeare's plays has been translated into over one hundred different languages. Yet, language is heavily based on culture, tradition, and history and it seems somethings will always be lost or changed in translation. In this project, performer Michelle Yim explores whether the translated Mandarin playscript would change or impact on the interpretations in performing Lady Macbeth's monologue. Chinese subtitles are generously provided by the students of Translation at the University of Newcastle.

Michelle Yim is a British-East Asian actor. She trained at ALRA in London and has performed and toured all over the UK.
